Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffer Week 6 shocker

Tampa Bay Buccaneers game recap for NFL Week 6 vs Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bucs are just 3-3 after a loss to Pittsburgh in Week 6.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to have some problems. After a 3-2 start, the Bucs looked ready to take control of their season. However, they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in Week 6. The final score in the game was 20-18, a loss that will raise some eyebrows toward TB.

Pittsburgh Steelers win as +9.5 underdogs

The Steelers entered the game as +9.5 underdogs. With a rookie QB that has a penchant for interceptions, it was hard to picture Pittsburgh staying close to the Bucs. However, Tom Brady's offense faltered on numerous drives where it looked like they could score a touchdown. What resulted was a field-goal-heavy offensive performance where Pittsburgh didn't need to score a ton of points to claim a 2-point victory.

Kenny Pickett, the starting QB for Pittsburgh, was much more poised in Week 6 than he was in Week 5. He avoided interceptions and threw for one touchdown. However, he also suffered a concussion in the game and exited it in the second half. Mitch Trubisky resumed quarterbacking duties for the Steelers with further updates pending.

Bucs vs Steelers: top performers

Trubisky had a good game in relief of Pickett. He connected on 9 of 12 passes for 144 yards and one passing touchdown.

Leonard Fournette was the game-high rusher with 63 yards on the ground. Chase Claypool of Pittsburgh was the game-high receiver with 96 yards receiving in the game.

The key play in the game occurred late when Tampa Bay missed a key two-point conversion. Down by 8, Brady passed for his only touchdown of the game. However, the Bucs missed the two-point try and that left Pittsburgh in the driver's seat.

Next up for Tampa Bay is a Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers. Meanwhile, the Steelers will go on the road next week to face Miami Dolphins.
