Miami Dolphins vs Buffalo Bills - Week 3
The Miami Dolphins are off to a start that no one really saw coming. They are 2-0 out of the gates, they beat the Baltimore Ravens, and Tua Tagovailoa is leading the league in passing yards. The Miami quarterback is also tied for the league lead in touchdown passes.
Miami enter Week 3 ranked 4th in our NFL Power Rankings. We'll note, the ranking is higher than what the Dolphins received from NFL.com, CBS, or ESPN. The Buffalo Bills enter the week as the top team in the same rankings - whether our own or any of the trio just mentioned.
What should happen if the Miami Dolphins beat the Buffalo Bills? Would that be enough to move Miami into the top spot?
Week 4 NFL Power Rankings Could See Miami Top Dogs
Obviously, other results come into play. If Tampa Bay beat Green Bay soundly, then it would be hard not to move the Bucs up to first. But Kansas City, the No. 2 team in most power rankings, doesn't have a "prove it" game. They should beat Indianapolis in Week 3 but that wouldn't turn any heads.
It seems that if Miami was to get the top spot, then not only would they need to beat Buffalo but they would need a good win. Anything over seven points for a spread would be very convincing on the Dolphins. Miami would also need the Bucs to either lose or only win small.
But, in conclusion, the top spot in our rankings is certainly up for grabs in the Buffalo/Miami game. What sounds most realistic, if Miami wins, is that they move up to No. 2 or No. 3 in our rankings. We'll see how the games go this week. But it's fair to say that the Dolphins can put themselves on the radar with fans nationwide with a statement win.
