Kevin Durant could miss the season

The star only played three games for his new team and didn’t even debuted at home for the Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns’ new star Kevin Durant was supposed to make his debut at home last night (8) but instead, he could now miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury. And all because he slipped and got injured during warmups for yesterday’s matchup versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With the injury not only he did not play in the game but also his season is now at risk. Since he left the Brooklyn Nets and moved to the Phoenix Sun he only played three games. They were all on the road, and he scored 80 points, 22 rebounds, and 11 assists.

There is no official update on Durant’s medical condition so far from the Suns, but according to The Arizona Republic, the player has a grade 2 ankle sprain. He is still set to undergo an MRI to determine de severity of the injury and what will be his return timeline.

“I feel bad for him because he feels bad. I saw his face and I’ve been around him so many times that I know what he’s feeling, and I don’t want him to feel that way at all”, said Monty Williams, Phoenix Suns’ head coach, about Durant’s mood in the locker room. The player already lost 20 games this season due to a knee MCL injury.

Kevin Durant’s season

The 34-year-old player is having a difficult season dealing with off-court problems. He’s been the focus of many polemics during preseason and midseason, as well as injuries. On the other hand, inside the court, he’s having a great year.

He has played 39 games wearing the Nets’ uniform and averaged 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. After moving to Phoenix, he averages 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. The Phoenix Suns are on their way to the playoffs. That would give Durant a few more games to come back still on this season.
