Last week's betting favorite to lead the regular season in interceptions was Kenny Pickett (sounds like "Pick it"). However, he came out of Pittsburgh's game in Week 6 and remains in concussion protocols.
That brings into play the major lessor that bettors need to be aware of when betting these unflattering categories. Not only does the player you pick to lead the league for a 'bad' stat have to produce the errors, but he has to play badly while still getting playing time. After all, any reduction in playing time definitely hurts your chances of leading the league in a statistical category. Cooper Rush, the backup QB for the Dallas Cowboys, was the statistical leader for interceptions in Week 6. He tossed three against the Philadelphia Eagles. Those remain the only interceptions that he has thrown this season. Odds are not available on this player but he would be a huge longshot given that Dak Prescott is returning to play soon.
