Davante Adams continues to struggle - NFL Week 3 Recap

Davante Adams had another disappointing game. He and Derek Carr do not seem to have a lot of chemistry for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas fell to 0-3 in NFL Week 3 on Sunday. To make matters worse, the Raiders lost to a Tennessee team that had likewise struggled to start the season. Davante Adams, for the third straight week, failed to post any kind of receiving totals that we are used to seeing out of the wide receiver.

In Week 3, Adams was just 5 for 10 on targets. He only received for 36 yards on the day. He now only has 186 yards receiving on the season and most of them came in Week 1 when he received for 141 yards. In that game, however, he was only 10 for 17 so there were a lot of misses when the ball went his way.

Derek Carr, Las Vegas' quarterback, also continues to struggle. In Week 3, he was 26 for 44 on the game. He was also intercepted in the game for what was the fourth interception of his season to date. His QBR in Week 3 was just 63.9.

Las Vegas Raiders winless

The Raiders, at 0-3, are starting to look like afterthoughts in the NFL. They are likely to be in the 25th to 30th range when ESPN, NFL.com, and CBS update their NFL Power Rankings for Week 4. Vegas and Houston are the only teams in the NFL that have yet to win a game. At least with the Texans, they have a tie to their credit.

But Vegas carries the weight of some expectations. Derek Carr used to be considered one of the stronger quarterbacks in the league. Furthermore, Adams has been described as the league's best receiver in the past. A lot was expected out of this combination. As of the start of Week 4, they have the worst record as the only team to go 0-3.

Last week, Adams was still 11 to 1 to lead the NFL in receiving yards with bet365. It would take a major turnaround for him to get back into contention.
