Week 2 Injury Updates - Late Saturday Updates

Reporting on the important injuries ahead of Week 2 NFL injury report updates. Stay tuned for updates on this injury report.

There is always a lot going on in the NFL on Fridays and Saturdays when it comes to the injury watch. Friday evening is when NFL teams have released their final pre-Sunday injury report, however, injury updates still hit the news on Saturday and even Sunday.

Michael Pittman out for Indianapolis Colts

Michael Pittman received for 121 yards in Week 1. He will miss Week 2 in an injury update that certainly benefits the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts' opponent.

Damien Williams is out for Atlanta

Damien Williams will not play in Week 2 for the Atlanta Falcons. The running back went to the injured reserve, meaning that he won't be available for at least four weeks. He was not really used much in Week 1 and the Falcons still have Cordarelle Patterson coming off of a career-high for rushing yards. Williams' injury is not a game changer.

Week 2 NFL Injury Report - Detroit updates

One key injury update on Friday involved the Detroit Lions. Frank Ragnow, their starting center and one of the best players on the offense, is out. In fact, Ragnow is one of the best centers league-wide in the NFL.

The Detroit Lions entered Week 2 as favorites to beat the Washington Commanders. However, the smart betting will certainly be going Washington's way following the injury update. The pass protection will not be the same without Ragnow, a guy that's capable of man-handling almost any defensive lineman in the NFL. Ragnow took an early season injury last season and that was part of the reason why the Detroit Lions performed poorly.

In our betting recommendations for the week, we examined the Washington vs. Detroit game. With Ragnow questionable earlier in the week, we felt that Washington was underrated. The Commanders remain small underdogs but could, in fact, be viewed as favorites now.

Chris Godwin is out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Another key player among the Week 2 NFL injury report updates was Chris Godwin. The wide receiver was confirmed as out on Friday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers injury report for Week 2.

In older news, NFL fans already knew that Dak Prescott would be out in Week 2. Prescott suffered an injury on Sunday night in Week 1 in a game against the Bucs. He looks like the highest-profile QB to miss the action in Week 2 as Cooper Rush prepares to keep the Dallas contingent hopeful.
