NFL Week 8 is a special week in the NFL, at least relative to recent weeks. No teams will have a bye, meaning there is a full slate of NFL games scheduled. The International Series in the NFL remains idle for this week. The chart below contains our NFL Week 8 predictions, picks, and betting tips.

The chart below is where will organize our picks, which include an analysis of the injury report. The left column is the game date column. The middle column has odds.
Note that these odds in the middle column do NOT reflect our betting recommendations. They are the opening odds, meaning the betting odds when we first looked at the game. In this week's case, our first look at game markets for NFL Week 8 was late on Tuesday. This would have been before the injury report releases for all games except for Thursday's.
The final column contains The Pick for each game with the date in brackets being the date of the pick. If you see anything crossed out, it means there was an update. We do not delete our picks from the chart. At the end of the week, this table will contain all the final scores that you can cross-reference to the original opening odds and our recommendations (all odds are from bet365 sportsbook).

Raiders vs Lions: Monday Night Football Preview
The Detroit Lions are -7.5 favorites as they prepare to host the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders enter the week with a 3-4 record but they are -49 on point differential. That is a great distance in the red for a record that is just one game on the losing side. In contrast, the 3-4 LA Chargers are +6. When Vegas wins, they win small. Meanwhile, a couple of their losses were pretty large spreads this season. At first glance, bettors have to be thinking Detroit will cover -7.5.
But Detroit has some injury concerns to note. Firstly, David Montgomery is out. As he goes, so could go their running game. Their WR1 is sick (Amon-Ra St. Brown). Josh Jackson is out on the offensive line. Lastly, Frank Ragnow, one of the best centers in the NFL, is doubtful for the game as of early Monday. Detroit has scored just 26 points in their last two games. With all of these injuries, this doesn't look like a bounceback game. My recommendation is to take the points on the Raiders in this one at +7.5.
Bears vs Chargers: Sunday Night Football Preview
The Chicago Bears will be without Justin Fields in Week 8. That could be a good thing. The Bears won their second game of the season last week after Tyson Bagent took over. He produced a good game statistically and his team won. That could be the beginning of the end of Fields, injured or not.
The Bears are big underdogs in this upcoming road game at +8.5. But they scored 30 last week so there's hope that they can get some against an LA Chargers team that certainly has not been razor-sharp so far this season.
You do have to like the OVER in this game. Not only did Chicago score some points last week with Bagent playing, but the Chargers' passing game should be strong against a Chicago defense that gives up a lot of passing yards. Take OVER 46.5 total points in this one.
Rams vs Cowboys: NFL Week 8
The Dallas Cowboys and LA Rams are both in really good health heading into this game. Look for an energetic match-up between two passing quarterbacks. The points total of 45.5 looks pretty low in this game.
Jaguars vs Steelers: NFL Week 8
This is an interesting game. Pittsburgh's solid defense certainly looms large in this contest. Meanwhile, Jacksonville had some injury concerns, including with their QB1, Trevor Lawrence. Jags backers will need to account for his playing status ahead of backing Jacksonville. Bettors should be going with the UNDER in this game, which has been set at 41.0. You can count on Pittsburgh's defense as much as you can count on their offense being shaky because Kenny Pickett's offense has not quite yet fully arrived.
Texans vs Panthers: NFL Week 8
The Texans are only coming in at -3.0 for this game? Everyone might be a little guilty of seeing last year's team instead of this year's team.. Houston is 3-3 with a couple of huge spreads this season. They can be backed at -3.0 with confidence and on the moneyline. Meanwhile, Carolina's hopes of using their bye week to their advantage to get a win is nullified by the fact that Houston had a bye week last week too.
Falcons vs Titans: NFL Week 8
The Titans are coming off of a bye week and should be very prepared for this game. Also, the Falcons have been a bit shaky since the opening weeks. Tennessee's QB, Ryan Tannehill, is questionable as of Thursday. That might not be the worst news for this team, who look like they could try something different. In a game that looks somewhat open, take the points on the home team.
Bengals vs 49ers: NFL Week 8
Our early recommendation for NFL Week 8 is the handicap on the Cincinnati Bengals. They are priced at +5.5 and odds of -110. The Bengals are coming in off of a bye against a San Francisco team that has lost two straight. Cincinnati started the season slow but this upcoming game will likely be their turning point and their alarm bell. San Francisco remains a tough team to bet against on the moneyline in a game the 49ers host. However, this one projects to somewhere between a 7-point win for 'cisco and a 3-point loss. Most of the likely results favor the Cincinnati Bengals at +5.5.
Bucs vs Bills: NFL Week 8
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could lose this upcoming game by a lot. Heading into game day, they don't know for certain who their QB will be in the game. Buffalo has blown a lot of teams out at home in recent seasons. All in all, a handicap of just -9.0 looks small for Buffalo to cover given the situation.
