Philadelphia Eagles legend DeSean Jackson bids farewell as he is officially announcing retirement. He is calling it a career after an illustrious 15-year NFL journey, announced by the team on Wednesday. The former Eagles' second-round pick will assume the role of honorary captain in this Sunday's clash against the 49ers.

Launching into the scene in 2008, the Cal speedster showcased his prowess, amassing 912 yards and two TDs as a rookie, marking the inception of a career destined for greatness. Over his initial six seasons with the Eagles, Jackson's remarkable contributions earned him three Pro Bowl selections. He had great numbers both as a receiver and returner.

"DeSean Jackson was a dynamic playmaker who captivated Eagles fans with his game-breaking speed, unique skill set, and explosive play," owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement. "What made DeSean truly stand out during his accomplished 15-year career was his ability to make miraculous plays look routine. We all remember him scooping up the football in New York on that fateful evening in December 2010 and veering his way into the end zone for what is now famously referred to as the 'Miracle at the New Meadowlands.' We are thrilled to welcome DeSean back and look forward to celebrating his official retirement as an Eagle on Sunday when he serves as our Honorary Captain of the Game."

His track record boasts three 1,000-yard seasons and an abundance of game-altering plays. Among these, the unforgettable Miracle at the New Meadowlands in 2010 stands out. At the opportunity, Jackson's 65-yard punt return for a game-winning touchdown sealed a miraculous comeback against the Giants with no time left on the clock.

Following his departure from Philadelphia in 2014, Jackson embarked on a football odyssey. He spent three seasons in Washington, two in Tampa Bay, returning to Philly for a two-year stint. His 2021 season between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. He concluded his impressive journey with a seven-game stint with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.

As the curtain falls on his remarkable career, Jackson leaves behind a legacy etched in the NFL record books. Also, he recorded 11,263 yards on 641 catches, punctuated by 58 touchdowns in 184 games.
