Denver Broncos Week 6 injury report: there is a lot to take in with this team. Denver may be fortunate to be playing on Monday night.
The Denver Broncos have a huge injury report. Thursday’s practice is over for NFL teams and the Broncos provided an unusually long list of names on their injury report.
It’s still very early in the week and injury statuses can improve. However, judging by the sheer volume of names on the report, which include Russell Wilson, it’s hard to picture the Broncos having effective practices at this point in their week.
No less than 18 names were included in the report, however, four of them were listed as “FP,” meaning full participation in practice. Two players were listed as “DNP” (did not participate), while numerous others were listed as “LP” (limited practice). Russell is among the players that were limited in practice on Wednesday. Melvin Gordon, the team’s top running back, was also limited. Russell’s injury is to his right shoulder while Gordon’s is to his neck/ribs.
The Broncos, just 2-3 to start the season, will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday. That will give Denver an extra day to recover from their injuries. However, the Chargers will host the game and Denver would have a tough game even if they were in much better physical shape.
Conversely, the LA Chargers only listed seven players on their injury report. The names included Justin Herbert (ribs), however, he was listed as a full participant. Keenan Allen, Dustin Hopkins, and Trey Pipkins were the only players listed as limited.
At this point in the week, the Chargers are -4.5 point favorites against Denver. It will be interesting to see if they hold at that line over the new few days. The Chargers are 3-2 on the season and were very competitive with an elite team in one of their losses. Denver, meanwhile, is considered a disappointment so far this NFL season.
