The Green Bay Packers are the favorites to win on Thursday. They will host the Tennessee Titans and, according to bet365, the Packers are 10/17 favorites in the game on the moneyline. The spread has been set at -3.0 with the same firm and odds of 5/6.
The injury report wasn’t great for the Packers after Tuesday’s practice. Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, and Allen Lazard are all questionable. They will need to be looked at after practice on Wednesday for those thinking about backing the Packers.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins can breathe a sigh of relief. Entering this season, they were the last team to go undefeated en route to a Super Bowl. Many have made late-season pushes, the New England Patriots came very close earlier this century to equalling the mark, but the ’72 Dolphins won’t be joined this season after Monday night football in Week 10.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost. That means that the various publishers out there that offer power rankings had to scramble to figure out if they should keep the 8-1 Eagles ranked in the top spot or put another team there.
In our own power rankings, we have the Minnesota Vikings as the top team. In placing them there, we noted that they don’t have a bad loss on the season and that they do have a top-notch win after beating Buffalo in a game the Bills hosted.
This NFL season has had its share of quarterbacking controversies. The first one of the season was in San Francisco. The latest one is in Washington: should Ron Rivera go with a healthy Carson Wentz or go with Taylor Heinecke? One comment he made seems to suggest that he will stick with the latter.
“You have to look at the momentum and what the mood of the team is,” Rivera said (qtd. at ESPN). “There are a lot of factors.”
If you are going by momentum, then it sounds like you’re sticking with the most recent plan. That would suggest that they are sticking with Heinecke.
The Washington Commanders, the team that beat the Philadelphia Eagles, are among the hotter teams in the NFL. They started the season just 1-4 but have improved to 5-5 on the season with all to play for when it comes to playoff aspirations. Knocking off the undefeated Eagles is a huge feather in Washington’s cap and the team’s outlook is really looking good going forward.
The Commanders have the Texans and the Panthers coming up. Those teams are among the worst in the NFL. A record of 7-5 cannot be discounted for Washington, especially the way that they have been playing lately.
The Commanders also released some positive news on Tuesday morning. Chase Young, the second overall pick from the 2020 NFL Draft, is going to be activated for Week 11. That comes from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and his sources.
The Miami Dolphins are another team that has an improved complexion in the NFL standings. They are back on top of the AFC East after the results from Week 10. The Dolphins, at 7-3, are now ahead of the 6-3 Buffalo Bills. Furthermore, the Dolphins currently hold the tiebreaker with Buffalo by virtue of Miami’s early-season victory over the Bills.
Miami is heading into a bye week. When they get to the other side of it, they should be in very reasonable shape. Furthermore, Miami has a low-ranked opponent in Week 12, the Houston Texans. An 8-3 record is definitely on the table for the Dolphins as they look to contend for more than just the AFC East this season.
The Indianapolis Colts went to an unfamiliar face in the head coaching position in Week 10. Jeff Saturday took over coaching responsibilities and the team delivered a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Colts went back to Matt Ryan for the game. He had been previously benched for the Colts, however, Sam Ehlinger, the replacement QB, wasn’t what the Colts needed. The Colts are now 4-5-1 and have to be feeling as though they can still compete for a playoff spot this season. They have Philadelphia coming up in Week 11, a game where the Eagles are favored by -7.5 (bet365).
