Recent NFL news for sports fans. Here is what has gone on in recent days with Myles Garrett, Hurricane Ian, and Mac Jones making headlines.
In recent headlines around the NFL, Hurricane Ian, although real for millions in southwest Florida, did not impact the location of the game closest to that part of the United States. There was a point when it was thought that the NFL might have to relocate its Week 4 game in Tampa Bay to Minnesota. You would have thought that the move to the neutral venue would have favored the Chiefs over the Bucs. However, it turns out that the game will be played in Florida after all.
In other news, Myles Garrett remains questionable for Week 4 for the Cleveland Browns. Garrett was in a car crash a few days ago.
He was DNP on the Browns’ injury report following practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Did not participate). The source lists shoulder and biceps injuries. These are not the same injuries that made him questionable for Week 3, a game that he ultimately played in. It has been reported that Garrett was not driving at a legal speed in the moments leading up to the accident (Jake Trotter/ESPN/September 29th, 2022).
According to the crash report released to ESPN, Garrett was driving 65 mph on a road with a 45 mph speed limit.
Mac Jones, it was reported, would miss multiple games for the New England Patriots (ESPN). He suffered an ankle injury late in Week 3. If he misses two games, then New England should lose to both Green Bay and Detroit in the upcoming weeks. At 1-2 on the season, it feels like the Patriots’ chances this year just took a major nose dive. Brian Hoyer is their presumptive starting QB for Week 4. Recently, Bill Belichick had been adamant that Jones was day-to-day but the young QB will miss his upcoming start.
Tua Tagovailoa remains a hot-button topic in the NFL right now. Josh McDaniel doesn’t think he made a bad decision with the QB leading up to the game.
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel has combed through the events leading up to Tua Tagovailoa’s injury Thursday night several times — right down to his own play call. But he’s not second-guessing how the team handled Tagovailoa throughout the week.
