Raiders vs Saints injury report for NFL Week 8: we examined the injury report for both teams and things look balanced for this game.
The Las Vegas Raiders and the New Orleans Saints will battle on Sunday in Week 8. Each team has just two wins on the season so each needs a victory on Sunday if they should have any serious hopes of contesting for a playoff spot late in the season. New Orleans will host the game but they enter as small underdogs with Unibet at +1.5 (-110). Here’s a breakdown of the injury report for each team in Week 8.
The Raiders listed 13 names on their injury report. The names included key players: quarterback Derek Carr, wide receiver Davante Adams, and running back Josh Jacobs. Adams isn’t having his best season, however, he is still one of the top receivers in the league. Meanwhile, Jacobs, if he stays healthy, has a chance to lead the NFL in rushing yards. These are players that Vegas needs if they are to dig themselves out of their 2-4 hole.
There were some supporting offensive players were on the report: Darren Waller, DJ Turner, Hunter Renfrow, and Mack Hollins. Furthermore, a couple of defensive starters were on the injury report.
Carr started the week with a back problem, however, he was upgraded to full participation in practice on Friday. Adams, as of Saturday afternoon, remained questionable due to an illness. Josh Jacobs was upgraded to a full practice participant on Friday after starting the week limited due to a foot injury.
Of the 13 listed players, six were full participants on Friday. However, Adams, Waller, Turner, and Hollins are names to watch along Divine Deablo and Johnathan Abram on defense for Las Vegas.
The Saints listed 13 players on their injury report, including three defensive starters. Jameis Winston appeared on the report, however, he was a full participant in practice all week and is active. Andy Dalton is expected to start anyways as there is a quarterbacking controversy going on with New Orleans. Previously, Dalton was starting seemingly in place of an injured Winston.
The Saints will be without wide receivers Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry. Each has been out for multiple weeks already. Taken as a whole, the injury report for each side is about balanced.
