The Pittsburgh Steelers took a win away from Week 1, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime 23-20. They truly snapped victory from the jaws of defeat as the Bengals missed a dunk at the buzzer when they missed an extra point that would have won the game in regulation. However, the victory could come at a great cost as TJ Watt left the game late and injury updates are pending.
Joe Burrow - Underachiever of Week 1?
The Week 1 game will also be remembered for the four interceptions that quarterback Joe Burrow threw for the Cincinnati Bengals. He had interception problems last season in the first half of the season. In fact, for many points of last season's campaign, he was among the betting favorites to lead the league in the unflattering category (bet365).
But Burrow, who is the presumptive "underachiever of the week," did more than just throw interceptions in making a bad case for himself. But if the news regarding TJ Watt and his injury is bad news for the Steelers, then Pittsburgh's chances of making the playoffs might be worse than they were ahead of the regular season. TJ Watt is an enormous defensive force in the NFL and his contributions would be missed severely should he need to miss a significant amount of playing time.
