Packers vs Lions injury report for Week 9. Aaron Rodgers is on the report and so is D’Andre Swift. Saturday update.
The Detroit Lions are 1-6 this season. For betting odds, they are 5 to 1 to finish the season with the worst record in the league, odds that make them the third favorite for the dubious distinction. Currently, the Lions have the worst record in the league as the Houston Texans, the only other one-win team in the NFL, have a tie to go with 1 win and 6 losses. The injury report for the Packers vs Lions game in Week 9 on Sunday is an extensive one that needs to be combed over.
Detroit has had its share of injuries this season. One player that seemed to be getting healthier in Week 8 was D’Andre Swift. Detroit’s top running back has barely played since September 25th. He appeared in Week 8 but was not used much: on five rushing attempts, he got six yards.
D’Andre Swift was back on the injury report for Week 9. On Wednesday, he was a non-participant in practice. By Friday, he was upgraded to limited participation.
Last week, he was on the report in name only: he was a full participant in the team’s three practices. In Week 8, it was his ankle and shoulder and that’s the same for Week 9. Fair conjecture would probably assume that he is doubtful given this player’s recent history.
Injury report mainstay, Frank Ragnow, is also on the Week 9 report. The prize center was limited on Wednesday and so was a wide receiver, Josh Reynolds. Ragnow improved to full participation over the course of the week. Josh Reynolds was downgraded from limited to non-participation.
Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, was limited in practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. He has a right-thumb injury but ESPN lists him as “Active” for Week 9. Wide receivers Allen Lazard and Christian Watson were also limited on Friday. They are questionable for Week 9, along with four other starters on defense and offense combined.
