Breece Hall was the Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite in the NFL. He had come on strong in recent weeks and the New York Jets were definitely benefiting from his play. They are still 5-2 and very much into the current season.

However, Hall suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 7. He also suffered a minor meniscus injury during Sunday’s 16-9 win over the Broncos, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Not only does that injury make the outlook of New York’s season much bleaker but it creates a new favorite in the betting market for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Kenneth Walker III is the new favorite

The Seattle Seahawks lost Rashaad Penny for the remainder of the season earlier this month. Kenneth Walker III replaced the running back and Walker has played well. The Seahawks are a very surprising 4-3 on the season.

Walker had 88 yards against New Orleans in Week 5. He improved to 97 yards in Week 6 against Arizona. In Week 7, Walker rushed for an excellent 169 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers. Below are the betting odds for the Offensive Rookie of the Year favorites as per bet365 sportsbook.

  1. Kenneth Walker III – 9/4 (+225)
  2. Dameon Pierce – 3/1 (+300)
  3. Chris Olave – 7/1 (+700)
  4. Brian Robinson Jr. – 14/1 (+1400)
  5. Drake London – 14/1 (+1400)

Walker’s next game will be against the New York Giants in Week 8. The game will also feature Saquon Barkley, one of the favorites to lead the NFL in rushing yards this season.

It took an injury to give Walker a chance to shine, however, he has made the most of his opportunity. He is definitely part of the reason why the Seahawks have to be feeling optimistic about this season.
