Texans @ Titans Saturday: Houston acts as a spoiler

With the loss, the Titans are now 7-8 on the season. They are definitely in trouble to make the postseason following the resurgence of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags won their Week 16 game and, in doing so, took over the top spot in the NFC South.

Each of Tennessee and Jacksonville is currently 7-8 but it's the Jags that own the tiebreaker. There's a chance that these two teams settle the division in the final week of the season when the Jags host Tennessee.

Meanwhile, the Texans improved to 2-12-1 with the 5-point victory. They are hardly newsworthy at this point in their season. If anything, their victory simply reflects how far down the Titans have come since the middle of the season.

Davis Mills passes for 178 yards

The winning quarterback in the game was Davis Mills of the Texans. He had 178 passing yards in the outing and his ratio of TDs to INTs was 1 to 1. Mills, who was benched for a couple of games not long ago, had a passer rating of 76.2.

The losing quarterback in the game was Malik Willis of the Titans. He has filled in at times this season when Ryan Tannehill has gone out. Tannehill is expected to miss the rest of the season and that means Willis may be the team's QB going forward. He had just 99 passing yards in the outing and his ratio of TDs to INTs was 0 to 2. Willis had a passer rating of just 34.5 and Derrick Henry featured prominently in the team's offense. He ran for 126 yards on the day in a losing effort.
