NFL Week 12 Recap - Mike White leads NYJ

NFL Week 12 recap for the Sunday early games. Some of the results are in with Cincinnati, and the NYJ among the winners.

The New York Jets got more than enough from Mike White, their starting quarterback, in his first appearance of the season in Week 12. The Jets thumped the Chicago Bears 31-10 to improve to 7-4 on the season. Fans of the Jets will be looking ahead with some optimism following the play of their third-string quarterback.

Mike White debuted this season, arguably, in a favorable game. The Chicago Bears have been looking forward to next season for several weeks now. They were trade deadline sellers and they were without their QB1, Justin Fields, on Sunday. White was 22 for 28 on passing, he threw for 315 yards, he had three passing touchdowns, and a passer rating of 149.3.

Washington Commanders beat Atlanta Falcons

The Washington Commanders continued to make their move toward the post-season. The team memorably defeated the Philadelphia Eagles a couple of weeks ago to sound the alarm that they were to be taken seriously this season. The Commanders are now 7-5 on the season and they will remain in serious contention for a Wild Card spot.

They defeated the Falcons 19-13 on Sunday. The Falcons are now 5-7 on the season and their hopes of making the playoffs are dwindling.

NFL Week 12 recap: Cincinnati Bengals beat Tennessee

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Tennessee Titans 20-16 in a game that Tennessee hosted. Both teams are now 7-4 on the season and they will have their eyes on other results for the balance of the week.

The Bengals played the game without either Joe Mixon or Ja'Marr Chase. But Tee Higgins had a stand-out game for Cincinnati for receiving. He had one touchdown and 114 yards to lead the game for both teams.

Derrick Henry did not have a great week for rushing yards. He had just 38 yards in the game on the ground, a total that will not be competitive for the week. He, Saquon Barkley, Nick Chubb, and Josh Jacobs are in a tight race to lead the NFL in rushing yards. At the time of writing, Chubb had rushed for over 100 yards in a game that was still active.

Miami Dolphins cover -14.0 spread against Houston

The Miami Dolphins raced out to a 30-0 halftime lead against the Houston Texans on Sunday. They then nursed that lead to a 30-15 victory over Houston. In doing so, the Dolphins covered the second-largest spread of the week. Only KC had a bigger spread to cover.

Tua Tagovailoa had 299 passing yards in the game, an impressive total given he saw plenty of bench time in the blowout. The Dolphins are now 8-3 and they are back in front in their division. They have the same record as Buffalo but Miami holds the tiebreaker.
