NFL Week 1 market is open

When a league hits the offseason, bettors basically forget about it until it comes back. Or at least until the preseason. Of course, there are always the futures lines open, including the draft picks. But it is not the same as betting on the actual games. And after the disclosure of the 2023 NFL regular-season schedule, the market is open for Week 1.

On September 9th the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl Champions, will host the Detroit Lions on the season opener match. And the favourites, of course, are the Chiefs. But now we already know how much of a favourite they are. The spread for this game is at 6.5 points. The over/under is at 53.5 points, which is high. These teams had two of the best offenses last season, but we don’t know how they are playing this year yet.

The other Super Bowl team last season, the Philadelphia Eagles will debut on the season on November 10th, as they visit the New England Patriots. And playing on the road they are the favourites by 4.5 points. The over/under is at 46.5, also a little bit high.
