Tyreek Hill was idle in Week 11 as the Miami Dolphins enjoyed their bye week. However, there was still a positive development for those that want the wide receiver to lead the NFL in receiving yards this season. Justin Jefferson is Hill’s main competitor and he, Jefferson, had a bad week statistically.
Jefferson’s team, the Minnesota Vikings, suffered an embarrassing loss. They fell 40-3 to the Dallas Cowboys in a game that Minnesota hosted. Jefferson was 3 for 5 on targets for the game and received for only 33 yards in the contest. Entering the week, it looked like Jefferson might overtake the lead. However, the top-five receiving yards leaders still have Hill on top heading into Week 12.*
*the Monday night game still needed to be played but there is no receiver in that game near the top for NFL Receiving Yards
NFL Receiving Yards Leaders heading into Week 12
- Tyreek Hill: 1148
- Justin Jefferson: 1093
- Stefon Diggs: 1033
- Davante Adams: 925
- Jaylen Waddle: 878
All of these players are level in terms of games remaining in their team’s schedules.
News related to receiving yards leaders
News related to the receiving yards race would include the recent news with Cooper Kupp. He is on the injured reserve for the LA Rams and will have to miss, by rule, four games in total. He missed Week 10 and cannot return until at least Week 14. However, there is some conjecture that his season is over. Accordingly, Kupp is no longer relevant to lead the NFL in receiving yards.
The weekly leader for Week 11 was Tee Higgins for Cincinnati. He had 148 yards but it was his first 100+ yards game since Week 4.
Among the favorites, Davante Adams had the best week. He had 141 yards for Las Vegas and has really come on strong of late.
The betting favorite in this market remains Tyreek Hill. He is at 7/4 to lead the NFL in receiving yards with bet365.
