The New England Patriots defeated the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in Week 6. The result sees the Pats improve to 3-3 on the season while the Browns are in trouble now with just a 2-4 record. The final score in the game was New England 38, Cleveland 15.

Bettin recap: Pats vs Browns

The Patriots entered this game as small underdogs (about 5/4 with Unibet). However, we tipped the Pats to win the game following their 29-0 thrashing last week of the Detroit Lions. Furthermore, we had Rhamondre Stevenson scoring a touchdown in the game and he actually scored two as the running back continues to emerge in the NFL.

Statistical leaders in the game

Bailey Zappe, New England’s third-string quarterback, threw for 309 yards in the game. He avoided throwing an interception and connected for two touchdown passes. Zappe had a very solid passer rating of 118.4 in the game and outperformed Jacoby Brissett in the contest.

The leading rusher in the game was Stevenson, who had 76 yards on the ground. Nick Chubb, Cleveland’s top rusher, had just 56 yards in the game for a rushing total.

The Patriots spread their passing around and no receiver had more than 64 yards. Cleveland’s Donovan People-Jones was the game-high receiver with 74 yards on five targets.

What’s next for both teams?

The New England Patriots will play in the Monday night game in Week 7. They will host the 2-4 Chicago Bears, a game that New England will probably be the favorite in early in Week 7. Arguably, the Pats will have a quarterbacking dilemma if Mac Jones is back to health. He was the team’s QB1 from the start of the season but Zappe has played too well to sit.

Meanwhile, the Browns are in a whole heap of trouble. At 2-4, there is no reason to be optimistic about their season. The Browns have the Ravens, the Bengals, the Dolphins, the Bills, and the Buccaneers in their next five games. A 3-8 record is not off the table for this team after the upcoming stretch.
