Another police case involving an NFL player. Cincinnati Bengals’ RB Joe Mixon is being recharged with a misdemeanor for aggravated menacing. The decision came from the Cincinnati Police Department. They decided to refile the chargers after “new discoveries”, as they announced in a press release.

“To preserve a fair and impartial judicial process for all parties involved, no investigatory details or evidence will be disclosed outside of official court proceedings,” the CPD statement read. “CPD is committed to a thorough, evidence-driven investigation of all reported offenses.”

The Cincinnati Bengals also released a statement about the case. “The club is aware misdemeanor charges have been raised against Joe Mixon. The team will monitor the situation and refrain from further comment.”

The case

According to the reports and the CPD files, Mixon, 26, was initially charged in February 2nd, 2023, in Hamilton County, Ohio. Allegedly, Mixon pointed a gun at a woman’s face on January 21st, making threats of shooting her. “You should be popped in the face, I should shoot you. The police can’t get me.” This configures “aggravated menacing” by state laws.

On January 22nd, only one day after the incident happened, according to the report, the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Buffalo Bills by 27-10 in the AFC Divisional Round, advancing to the AFC Championship Game. Joe Mixon scored the last touchdown of that game on a 1-yard run.
