Cowboys @ Titans Thursday: Little changes for each team

With the loss, the Titans are now 7-9 on the season. Their playoff chances more or less remain what they were heading into Week 17. The Titans need to win their division with a victory over Jacksonville in Week 18. Tennessee will probably be underdogs on the road in Week 18 and that makes them equal underdogs to make the playoffs at this point. However, they have the edge of playing on Thursday night in Week 17: Tennessee will be well-rested by the time their Week 18 game rolls around.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys improved to 12-4 with the 14-point victory. Their playoff outlook barely changed with the result. However, there is still a chance that this team wins their division and even their conference for the regular-season standings.

They need a lot to go right for that to happen, including for Philadelphia to go 0-2 for the balance of the regular season. This is something most pundits would surely deem unlikely to happen. By any reasonable account, Dallas is heading toward a five seed in their conference as the first Wild Card.

Dak Prescott passes for 282 yards

Dak Prescott, although he did not play particularly well on Thursday, was the winning quarterback in the game. He had 282 passing yards in the outing and his ratio of TDs to INTs was 2 to 2. Prescott, who had a fumble in the game, finished with a passer rating of 85.6.

Joshua Dobbs, who played instead of Malik Willis, was the losing quarterback in the game. He, Dobbs, had 232 passing yards in the outing and his ratio of TDs to INTs was 1 to 1. The losing quarterback had a passer rating of 67.5, which is below the normal standard for an NFL starter.
