Dak Prescott returned to the NFL in Week 7. He suffered a thumb injury back in Week 1, had to have surgery, and then missed some time as he recovered. Cooper Rush won 4 of his 5 starts backing up Prescott but Dallas’ QB1 was back in the helm in Week 7. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Detroit Lions 24-6.

Dak struggled to start but finished strong

Prescott struggled on the opening drive of the game. He took a sack on third-and-eight as his offense started poorly. The Cowboys had negative yards on 2 of their first 4 drives in the game before they improved.

Prescott didn’t have an amazing game for passing yards. However, he was an efficient 19 for 25 for 207 yards. He also had a passing touchdown in the game, the first of his season, and he kept the sheet clean for interceptions. He finished with a passer rating of 113.3 and, more importantly, the Cowboys got the win in the game. They improved to 5-2 on the season, which is good enough for third place in their deep division.

Ezekiel Elliott questionable after the game

Ezekiel Elliott, one of Dallas’ running backs, had two touchdowns in the game. However, afterward, he emerged as “questionable” for Week 8. He took a bad hit to his knee in the game. When the Cowboys resume practicing on Tuesday, it will be interesting to see the post-practice injury report with Elliott.

RB2 Tony Pollard was strong in the game. He has been hit-and-miss in recent weeks but rushed for 83 yards on Sunday. He also had 26 yards receiving on 2 targets.

Next up for Dallas is a supposedly easy one. The Cowboys will host the Chicago Bears in Week 8. Chicago is 2-4 on the season but will play on Monday night in Week 7.
