The Indianapolis Colts are signing QB Gardner Minshew on another quarterback trade during this Free Agency. He is now reuniting with Shane Steichen, Colts head coach and former Eagles offensive coordinator. Minshew and Steichen worked together last season in Philadelphia and are back together for the 2023 season.

After releasing Matt Ryan, the Colts still had Nick Foles and Sam Ehlinger for the position. Now they are adding Minshew and are also expected to draft another QB on the draft as the team has the no. 4 overall pick.

With the move, Minshewmania is headed to Indianapolis and the QB is back to the AFC South. He played two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, after being drafted in 2019. His rookie season had great moments, but his level only decreased over the next seasons.

He spent another two years with the Philadelphia Eagles and played only nine games during that period. Last season, the most difficult time of the season for the Eagles happened during the two games that Minshew started after Jalen Hurts injury. He lost both games and the team saw the Cowboys almost steal the NFC East title.

Maybe his move to the Colts helped with Philly’s decision of bringing Marcus Mariota as a backup for next season. Minshew will now fight with another former Eagles QB Nick Foles for the chance to become a starter next season.

Drafted in 2019 by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the no. 178 overall pick, in the 6th round, Minshew was not expected to play so soon. However, guess who was Jaguars’ QB1 that year? Yep, Nick Foles. After he injured his clavicle, Minshew became the quarterback for the Jags and fans went crazy. He is not a perfect QB but is a decent one. Maybe in the right gameplan he can make things work for the Colts. Hopefully not with another Nick Foles injury.

Minshew played only 32 games during his first four years in the NFL. During this time, he completed 586 out of 933 passes, totalling 6,632 yards, 44 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Running with the ball he has 112 carries, 521 yards and two TDs.
