The Carolina Panthers are going through a lot of changes. They recently fired their head coach, Matt Rhule, after a 1-4 start to the season. The Panthers will also be without their quarterback, Baker Mayfield, for anywhere from 2-6 weeks. They are very much a team in turmoil and that, as much as their 1-4 record, has placed them among the favorites to finish last in the NFL this season.

Panthers vs Rams: Week 6

The Panthers have drawn a quality team in Week 6. It should come as no surprise that they are the biggest underdog of the week.

Carolina will be on the road this Sunday. They are in Los Angeles to take on the LA Rams. The Rams have entered the game at -10.5, making them the biggest favorites of Week 6.

The Rams, as defending Super Bowl champions, have faced a lot of expectations. But they are off to a poor start as well. Through five games, they are just 2-3 to start the season. If the Rams should lose to Carolina, then it would be an indictment of the team. There is the perception that LA is not playing its best because of a so-called Super Bowl hangover.

PJ Walker will get the start as quarterback for Carolina. He is in place of the injured Mayfield.

Walker is in his third season in the NFL, all of which has been with Carolina. With all the QB problems that the franchise has had the last two seasons, he has seen a fair amount of playing time for a backup. Week 6 will mark his 11th career appearance in the NFL. But there has been nothing out of Walker that suggests that he’s worthy of regular NFL starts.

Week 6 game time: Panthers vs Rams

The game time between the Rams and Panthers on Sunday is 4:05 pm ET. Carolina fans will be looking to see if Steve Wilks, the new head coach, has pulled off a miracle in the last week. LA won’t prove much with a win, however, if they lose it will serve as a definitive wake-up call for the defending champs.
