The Cincinnati Bengals will be on the road on Monday in Week 8. They will face the Cleveland Browns in a game between the 4-3 Bengals and the 2-5 Browns. This is a match-up where bettors will need to be aware of the injury report.

Cincinnati Bengals injury report

The big news with this game is that Ja’Marr chase will not play, nor is he expected to play for several weeks. According to the injury report from Thursday, Chase was a non-participant in practice. According to recent news, Chase is reportedly dealing with a hip issue that is expected to sideline him for 4-6 weeks (Adam Schefter of ESPN).

Chase was one of the betting favorites to lead the NFL in receiving yards this season. A couple of days ago, we looked at the market and noted that Chase was the 5th favorite at 11 to 1 with bet365 sportsbook. The Bengals, who listed a total of nine players in their half of the injury report for Week 8, will feel his absence. In addition to Chase, the Bengals listed three starting defensive players and two additional offensive starters.

Cleveland Browns injury report

The Cleveland Browns have a more extensive injury report. After practice on Thursday, they listed 14 players on their report. Not all of the players were injured but 13 of the 14 were either limited or non-participants. Even with Chase on Cincinnati’s side of the injury report, the Browns are in worse shape.

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was a non-participant in practice with an ankle injury. Myles Garrett, the best player on the Cleveland Browns, continues to have a rocky season. He was a non-participant in practice too with shoulder and biceps problems. Tight end David Njoku has been reliable all season. However, he will be out for Week 8 with an ankle injury.

The Browns look as though they need the extra day of rest and are fortunate to be in the Monday night game this week. However, the balance of the injury report favors Cincinnati so far. Look for Cleveland to have an edge in this game if Myles Garrett is upgraded.
