Another NFL offseason and another chapter of the most famous story at this time of the year: Aaron Rodgers is talking with the New York Jets. And this fact raises some questions: will he finally leave Green Bay? Is he joining the Jets? Will he just come back for another season with the Packers, as always?

It looks like this time he is for real leaving. Last season the Green Bay Packers were terrible. Aaron Rodgers played with zero passion, the WR body was trash and if it wasn’t for Christian Watson’s big plays, the franchise wouldn’t even be part of the playoff contention last season.

With an 8-9 record they didn’t make the playoffs thanks to their loss versus the Detroit Lions in week 18. Instead, the Seattle Seahawks advanced. And after so much drama, it looks like Green Bay will have to think about their next QB.

Aaron Rodgers already made the headlights this offseason with his four-day dark retreat, and now it seems it’s time to move on. The Packers allowed and the Jets are already discussing a contract for Rodgers to be their next quarterback. With Rodgers and OROY Garrett Wilson, will the Jets make the playoffs? Would they have a real Super Bowl chance?

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Jets are optimistic about the initial talks. They believe they could land the future Hall of Famer in New York. And some bettors are also excited about this possible change of QBs in the Jets.

Bets

Caesars Sports, one of the famous bookies in the US, reported that since the news of the talks between Rodgers and the Jets broke, 220 bets were placed on the New York Jets winning the Super Bowl LVIII, in 2024. Every other 31 teams combined had 71 bets placed in the same period of time.

The odds for the Jets to win the Super Bowl dropped significantly at DK Sportsbook, another famous bookmaker. In 24 hours after the news was released, the odds dropped from 25.00 to 18.00. The same happened at BetMGM, and the odds are already at “only” 16.00.

In order to win the Super Bowl, the Jets would have to end the longest streak of a team missing the playoffs. The New York green franchise don’t play in a playoff game since 2010 when they lost the AFC Championship Game to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Every other team played in the playoffs ever since.
