Warriors vs Mavericks recap for Saturday, February 4th, 2023. The Mavericks (now 28-26 this season) lost to the Warriors, who are now 27-26.

The Golden State Warriors, a team with an impressive home record, hosted the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. The Warriors won the game in a contest that was fairly close as time expired. They put up a single-digit margin of victory in the game, winning by 6 points, despite a poor fourth quarter. The final score in the game was Dallas 113, and Golden State 119.

Mavericks @ Warriors Saturday: Spencer Dinwiddie scores 25

With the loss, the Mavericks are now 28-26 overall on the season. They were playing without Luka Doncic, who has a heel injury. Doncic will also miss the team's next game against the Utah Jazz, according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN. Spencer Dinwiddie had the game-high for points for Dallas as he scored 25 against the Warriors.

If the Mavericks are not careful, then they will risk missing the playoffs. They could easily be play-in tournament bound as they simply are not that good of a team.

There are still 28 games remaining in Dallas' schedule but there are a lot of teams looking to climb. All of Utah, Golden State, Minnesota, OKC, Portland, and the LA Lakers have played better in their last ten relative to the Mavs' last ten. These are all teams trying to target someone to climb over.

Dallas Mavericks: Recent Form Alert

  • Dallas Mavericks were 24-19 (January 12th, 2023)
  • Following Saturday's game, they are 28-26
  • Dallas is 4-7 in their last 11 games

Meanwhile, the Warriors improved to 27-26 with the 6-point victory. Their high scorer was Steph Curry, who had 21 points in the game. However, Curry came out of the game with a knee injury so we'll see if that's how GS's cookie crumbles this season. Golden State remains a difficult home team as they prepare for the Thunder on Monday.

The Warriors said X-rays for Curry were negative, and he will have an MRI exam.
