Warriors vs Jazz Recap: NBA Dec. 28/22

Warriors vs Jazz recap for Wednesday, Dec. 28/22. The Jazz (now 18-18 this season) lost to the Warriors, who are now 19-18.

The Golden State Warriors, the best team in the NBA in terms of home winning percentage, hosted the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. The Warriors, behind 26 points from Jordan Poole, won the game in a contest that was fairly close as time expired.

They, the Warriors, put up a single-digit margin of victory, winning by 5 points. The final score was Utah 107, and Golden State 112 as the Warriors improved to 15-2 from home this season.

Jazz @ Warriors Wednesday: Lauri Markkanen scores 29

With the loss, the Jazz are now 18-18 overall on the season. They had the top scorer in the game, Lauri Markkanen. The Jazz also had Kelly Olynyk back in the starting lineup. He went 9 and 6 for points and rebounds in the contest as the Jazz fell to 7-13 on the road this season.

The Jazz will next face the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, a game that the Kings will host. The two teams seem to be very comparable with one another with, presumingly, the Kings entering the game as just small home favorites.

Warriors are still excellent at home without Curry

Meanwhile, the Warriors improved to 19-18 overall with the 5-point victory. Already down Steph Curry, the Warriors played this game without Klay Thompson. They entered the game as underdogs with bet365 but pulled off a quality win.

A big takeaway with the Warriors of late is that they seem to be tough from home still, despite losing Curry for a while. There was some question as to whether Golden State would remain elite from home after they lost their star point guard. On their current home stand, they are 3-0 without a one-possession spread even factoring into that.

Golden State will remain at home for the time being. They will face the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. It will be interesting to see what the oddsmakers have to say about the game. A handicap on Golden State would be precious given how well they play at home -- with or without Steph Curry.
