Kings vs Spurs recap for Wednesday, February 1st, 2023. The Spurs (now 14-38 this season) lost to the Kings, who are now 29-21.
The San Antonio Spurs hosted the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday evening. The Kings, who are leading the Pacific Division, won the game in a contest that was not close at the final buzzer. They put up a comfortable double-digit spread in the game, winning by 10 points in part thanks to a strong fourth quarter. The final score was Sacramento 119, and San Antonio 109 as the Kings padded their Pacific Division lead.
With the loss, the Spurs are now 14-38 overall on the season. This is one of the few teams in the NBA where even the depths of the play-in tournament seem out of reach. San Antonio looks like nothing except for a seller as the trade deadline looms in the days ahead.
Meanwhile, the Kings improved to 29-21 with the 10-point victory. The top scorer in the game was Domantas Sabonis. He had an impressive 34 points in the contest and 11 rebounds for yet another double-double. Sabonis has finally caught the attention of bet365 in their MVP futures. Until recently, he had no odds available, however, he is currently priced at 250 to 1. That makes him about the 16th favorite in the NBA.
With the win, the Kings remain on top of the Pacific Division standings. However, the standings are tight heading into Thursday. They have a two-game lead on the LA Clippers, a team that was idle on Wednesday. Sacramento’s next game is on February 3rd when they travel to Indiana.
