Recent NBA News (Nov. 30th): Shai Gilgeous-Alexander injured

Recent NBA news for November 30th, 2022. SGA and KAT are among the injured players in the NBA.

The NBA has a lot of games on Wednesday night. In one game, the OKC Thunder will be on the road as they will face the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are the team in the NBA with the longest active losing streak at eight games. They enter the game against OKC as small home underdogs, set at -3.0 with Unibet sportsbook.

The big news related to this game is that OKC's ace point guard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, is injured. That certainly makes the current game an above-average one in terms of San Antonio's chances of ending their losing streak. OKC fans will definitely be waiting to hear about updates with the injury as to how long SGA will be out. His ESPN player profile mentions a hip injury.

Karl-Anthony Towns is injured for Minnesota

In other injury news, Karl-Anthony Towns is out. He has a calf injury and Adrian Wojnarowski reported that he will not return for 4-6 weeks. That creates a return date for January.

The Timberwolves, who play the Grizzlies on Wednesday, will need to discover some chemistry without Towns and they may be able to do it. They still have a solid trio in Rudy Gobert, DeAngelo Russell, and Anthony Edwards that should be able to keep them in most games. If they can utilize Russell more effectively than they have been, then the Timberwolves could still be very much alive this season.

No Kawhi Leonard? No Paul George? No problem.

Teams don't always play badly when they are missing their star players. The LA Clippers have won two straight even though Paul George and Kawhi Leonard missed both of the games. Ivica Zubac has shown that he can pick up some slack over the two games.

Zubac had 29 rebounds in a win over the Indiana Pacers. He also had 31 points in the game, clearly one of the best games of his career. His follow-up wasn't nearly as impressive but he still posted a double-double en route to helping the Clippers defeat Portland on Tuesday. George and Leonard remain out for the Clippers on Wednesday as they prepare to face Utah.
