Raptors vs Cavaliers recap for Friday, Dec. 23/22. The Cavaliers (now 22-12 this season) lost to the Raptors, who are now 15-18.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, one of the best home teams in the NBA so far this season, hosted the Toronto Raptors on Friday. The Raptors, who have had some struggles of late, won the game in a contest that was not close at the final buzzer.
They put up a surprising double-digit spread in the game, winning by 11 points on Cleveland’s court. The final score was Toronto 118, and Cleveland 107, a result that Toronto and their fans will be very pleased with. Perhaps the team is starting to turn things around after a stretch where they were not that impressive.
With the loss, the Cavaliers are now 22-12 overall on the season and their five-game winning streak came to a halt. They dropped to 16-3 from home this season, which is still one of the best home records in the NBA.
Evan Mobley was questionable to start the game, however, he ended up playing with limited effectiveness. No Cleveland player scored more than 17 points in the contest.
Meanwhile, the Raptors improved to 15-18 with the 11-point victory. They have now won two straight and both of the wins came against teams we ranked in our top ten to start the week. The top scorer in the game was Pascal Siakam. He had a very good 26 points in the contest, as did OG Anunoby.
Next up for the Raptors is a game on December 27th against the LA Clippers. Cleveland will host the Brooklyn Nets on Boxing Day, a game that is a showdown between two of the better teams in the association so far this season.
