The Detroit Pistons, one of the worst teams in the NBA so far this season, hosted the Orlando Magic on Wednesday evening. The Pistons, a team that still has not hit double-digits for victories this season, won the game in a contest that was not competitive at all as time expired.

They put up a large double-digit margin of victory in the game, winning by 20 points, a rarity in Detroit’s season so far. The final score was Orlando 101, and Detroit 121.

Magic @ Pistons Wednesday: Alec Burks scores 32

With the loss, the Magic are now 13-23 overall on the season. They have lost two straight but remain 8-2 in their last ten games.

This is a team that’s tough to read right now. A loss to Detroit by 20 points should not be ignored. We’ve been consistent in backing the Magic at long odds to make the play-in tournament for the last few weeks, however, bettors should hold off topping that up.

Firstly, the odds of that event happening have shortened (they are currently 8 to 1 to make the play-in tournament). Secondly, a 20-point loss to the Pistons could hint at problems with the team that may require some adjustments.

Meanwhile, the Pistons improved to 9-28 with the 20-point victory. They remain the bottom team by winning percentage in the NBA. The top scorer in the game was Alec Burks. He had an impressive 32 points in the contest coming off of the bench. Speaking of the bench, the game might be remembered for a little bit of a tussle involving the two teams as seen below.
