Suns vs Kings recap for Tuesday, February 15th, 2023. The Kings (now 32-25 this season) lost to the Suns, who are now 32-27.
The Phoenix Suns hosted the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. This was to be Sacramento’s final game before heading into the All-Star break.
The Suns, who will play again on Thursday, beat the Kings in a contest that was not close as time expired. Phoenix put up a double-digit margin of victory, winning by 11 points thanks in part to a strong fourth quarter. The final score was Sacramento 109, and Phoenix 120.
With the loss, the Kings are now 32-25 overall on the season. The top scorer in the game was their point guard, De’Aaron Fox. He had an impressive 35 points in the contest despite the losing effort. Sacramento’s double-double machine, Domantas Sabonis, had another impressive game, scoring 24 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.
The Kings’ record is a decent one, however, they’ve been below standard in recent weeks. Sacramento won’t play again until February 23rd and you have to think that the break will do them well. They just have not looked like the solid team their fans saw for much of November, December, and January.
Meanwhile, the Suns improved to 32-27 with the 11-point victory. Phoenix has been playing so well lately, winning 11 of their last 14, that it’s almost scary to imagine what they might look like when Kevin Durant debuts. If he joins the team playing well and there is good on-court chemistry, then Phoenix will be very difficult to knock out of the playoffs this season — provided all their main players stay healthy.
The Suns still have one more game to go before breaking for the All-Star break. Phoenix will host the LA Clippers on Thursday before receiving a week off.
