Spurs @ Pelicans Thursday: CJ McCollum scores 40

With the loss, the Spurs are now 10-21 overall on the season. It has been difficult going for the team, including on the road where they are just 5-9 this season. San Antonio currently sits in second-last place in the NBA standings, only ahead of the Houston Rockets.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans improved to 19-12 with the 9-point victory. This was a team that was in a little bit of a slump, losers of four straight heading into the game. They now sit in third place in the Western Conference.

They did not have Zion Williamson in the game due to health and safety protocols. Furthermore, they remained without Brandon Ingram. However, New Orleans received a very impressive performance from one of their guards. The top scorer in the game was CJ McCollum, who had 40 points in leading the Pelicans to victory.
