After making it to the finals for the first time in history it is impossible to keep doubting Denvers’ capacity
The Denver Nuggets swept the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals and made it to the NBA Finals for the first time in history. But not only that, the Nuggets are now the favourites to win the NBA Finals.
After an amazing regular season, which ended with the #1 seed in the West with a 53-29 record, nobody seemed to believe in the Nuggets’ potential. Bookies were giving the favouritism for winning the West to the Phoenix Suns, which finished the regular season only with the #4 seed.
By doing that, they were not only ignoring the Nuggets’ season but also the Memphis Grizzlies (#2) and the Sacramento Kings (#3). It turns out they were right about these two teams, but they proved to be extremely wrong about both Denver and Phoenix. The Nuggets not only are now West Champions but also knocked the Suns out along the way.
Now, with only three teams remaining in the fight for the NBA Finals trophy, the Nuggets are the favourites by far. The Miami Heat, which had a more difficult season, appear in second as they are only one win away from the finals. And the Boston Celtics, the favourites before the Conference Finals began, are now the biggest underdogs.
