Nuggets advance to Conference Finals

In the second game of the night we met the first Conference Finalist of the season, and it happened in the West

The NBA met its first finalist of the 2022-23 season. The Denver Nuggets beat the Phoenix Sund on the road in Game 6 and are the first team to advance to the Conference Finals. And it happened in the West. Now the Nuggets await to meet their opponent in the Western Conference Finals, which will come out of the Lakers vs. Warriors series.

In order to advance last night the Denver Nuggets had to do something unprecedented in this series: win a road game. After three games in Denver with three Nuggets wins and two games in Phoenix with two Suns W’s, Game 6 was once again in Phoenix. But for the first time in the series, the visitors won, and with that, qualified for the Conference Finals.

Once again, Nikola Jokić scored a triple-double. It was his third in six games in this series. The Nuggets basically won the game in the first halftime as they were ahead by 30 points at halftime, winning by 81-51. In the second half, the Suns even won the two last quarters of the game but in the end, Denver still won the game by 125-120.

Best Performances

Once again, Nikola Jokić was the man of the match, scoring another triple-double. But not only that, he was also the game’s top scorer. Besides him, we had a couple of other great performances. Check out the numbers.

Denver Nuggets

  • Nikola Jokić – 32 PTS/10 REB/12 AST
  • Jamarl Murray – 26 PTS
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – 21 PTS/5 REB

Phoenix Suns

  • Cameron Payne – 31 PTS/6 REB
  • Kevin Durant – 23 PTS/5 REB/5 AST

Bets

This was not our best performance either. We were expecting more from the Phoenix Suns as they needed to win to avoid elimination. Because of that, we missed a lot of lines on the over. We also missed some lines on the under on the Nuggets’ side, since in our study for the game we expected a better defensive game from Phoenix, which didn’t happen. Check out the outcome of our picks.
