NFL Power Rankings Week 4. Who are the best teams and the worst teams in NFL according to ESPN, CBS, and NFL.com?
Here’s a look at what the other publishers are thinking when it comes to NFL Power Rankings for Week 4. We visited CBS, NFL.com, and ESPN and have the Top 5 teams from each after Week 3. ESPN’s are the most reasonable and are the closest match to our own rankings for Week 4.
The NFL.com rankings come from writer Dan Hanzus. Whatever he is thinking, he doesn’t overly emphasize on-field results.
The Miami Dolphins, his third-ranked team, actually beat the Buffalo Bills in Week 3. Hanzus still ranked Buffalo higher in his rankings. Also, he and CBS both rank Philadelphia higher despite the fact that the Eagles have clearly played the weaker scheduler this season to date.
The Houston Texans, with a record of 0-2-1, entered as the No. 32 team in each of the power rankings from NFL.com, CBS, and ESPN. There are a few counterpoints that could be said about the Texans at this point.
Firstly, they have not been blown out despite the fact that they are winless to start the season. Secondly, their two losses both came on the road and were one-possession results. Thirdly, Houston has a tie game this season that actually gives them a better record than one another team.
But in regard to the final point, Houston is probably not better than Las Vegas. When it comes to the league’s bottom dwellers expect Houston to climb slightly in the weeks ahead but never to make any kind of impact on the season.
