NFL Power Rankings Week 16: Eagles on top

NFL Power Rankings heading into Week 16: the Philadelphia Eagles remain our top team while we drop the Cowboys a few spots.

Dak Prescott

The Philadelphia Eagles remain the top pick for our Top Ten NFL Power Rankings. They are 13-1 after Week 15, a week in the National Football League where they won on the road against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

For Philly, it seems that clinching the top spot in their conference is almost imminent and with that will come a bye through the first round of the NFL playoffs, not to mention a good chance to make it to the conference finals. Here's a look at our entire top ten with explanations to follow.

Top Ten NFL Power Rankings: Week 16

  1. Philadelphia Eagles: 13-1 (no change since last week)
  2. Buffalo Bills: 11-3 (+2)
  3. KC Chiefs: 11-3 (no change)
  4. San Francisco 49ers: 10-4 (+1)
  5. Cincinnati Bengals: 10-4 (+1)
  6. Dallas Cowboys: 10-4 (-4)
  7. Minnesota Vikings: 11-3 (no change)
  8. Los Angeles Chargers: 8-6 (new entrant)
  9. Baltimore Ravens: 9-5 (-1)
  10. New York Giants: 8-5-1 (re-entry)

The teams that we dropped out of our top ten were the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Commanders. For Miami, the plunge came after three straight losses where they went from 8-3 to 8-6. Formerly the top team in our NFL Power Rankings, the Dolphins are now in a fight to hang on to the final playoff spot.

Washington fell out of our power rankings following a loss to the New York Giants on Sunday night. The Commanders still hold the final playoff spot in their conference but could rue the missed opportunities and missed calls that came against the Giants on Sunday.

Games involving top teams in NFL Week 16

The New York Giants, the No. 10 team above, will face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. The Vikings, who are No. 7 in our list, are -3.5 early-week favorites for the game with bet365 sportsbook.

Meanwhile, there's a big game involving the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. However, it's also a game that could be overstated. Neither team actually needs the victory all that critically.

The Eagles are road underdogs as per the early-week odds at +1.5 with bet365. However, both teams have playoff seeds that look like they are going to lock in soon. The game doesn't have huge swing potential, although the loser could, potentially, face a playoff-seedings slide if things continued in the wrong direction in the weeks to come.
