NBA underdogs night

Timberwolves, Pistons and Rockets won their games even though they were not the favourites pre-game

Yesterday’s (13) slate in the NBA brought a curious night for basketball fans. Of the seven games of the night, three had the underdogs winning the game. And more than that, two of them were the Pistons and the Rockets, the two worst teams in the league. Check out now the details of the games in this NBA underdogs night.

Minnesota Timberwolves 136-115 Atlanta Hawks

The Wolves were the underdogs by 5.5 points. Even though they were playing on the road and against the bookies, they managed to win the game. Not even Trae Young’s 41 points for the Hawks could stop this fate. Anthony Edwards scored 32 points and Kyle Anderson had a triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

Indiana Pacers 97-117 Detroit Pistons

Here things begin to be weird. The Pistons, who are the worst team in the league so far, beat the Pacers playing at home. And it was a huge team win. Seven of the 10 players who played in the game for Detroit scored more than 10 points. Cory Joseph had 22, while James Wiseman (18 PTS/14 REB), Killian Hayes (10 PTS/11 AST) and Jalen Duren (12 PTS/11 REB) all had double-doubles.

Boston Celtics 109-111 Houston Rockets

But now things went completely crazy. The second-worst team in the NBA this season beat the second-best. They were underdogs by 12.5 points in this game and somehow won by two. Jaylen Brown scored 43 points for the Celtics, but they were basically useless. Three Rockets players scored 20+ points, with Jalen Green being the team’s top scorer with 28. Jabari Smith Jr. (24 PTS/11 REB) and Kevin Porter Jr. (14 PTS/13 AST) also had double-doubles.
