Donovan Mitchell had one of his worst statistical performances of the season so far. He scored just 23 points and had minimal contributions for rebounding and assists. Meanwhile, Chris LeVert scored just 2 points in 20 minutes of playing time as the Cavaliers continued to regress after their hot start.
New Orleans Pelicans win without Zion Williamson
Good teams will still win some games without their best player in the NBA. On that matter, the New Orleans Pelicans have won a couple of games without Zion Williamson in the lineup. Williams is out with a foot problem and has missed the team’s last two games, both of which New Orleans won.
On Wednesday, the Pelicans defeated the Chicago Bulls 124-110. CJ McCollum was the team’s high scorer in the game as he netted 23 points for the Pelicans. New Orleans is now 9-6 while Chicago fell to 6-9 on the season. Every Chicago fan has to be wondering if Lonzo Ball will return to action playing well later season, hopefully in time to make a difference for the Bulls.
LaMelo Ball has a good game but Charlotte falls again
The Charlotte Hornets fell to 4-12 on the season on Wednesday night. Furthermore, the Hornets are now just 1-6 when hosting. They lost to the Indiana Pacers 125-113, a result that saw the Pacers get on the good side of .500 with a 7-6 record to date.
LaMelo Ball played his third game of the season. Wednesday marked the first game where he shot the ball well. Ball was 10 of 17 from the field and 5 of 8 from three-point range en route to 26 points over 37 minutes.

In other results, Toronto handled Miami 112-104. The Boston Celtics also won on Wednesday. They posted a comfortable road win over the Atlanta Hawks, winning 126-101.
