The Sacramento Kings improved to 9-6 on the season. They defeated the Detroit Pistons 137-129 behind a strong fourth quarter. The Kings, a team that started the season 0-4, have now won six games in a row. They currently sit in 5th place in the NBA standings and in second place in the Pacific Division.
Domantas Sabonis continues to play well for Sacramento. On Sunday, he had 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists for the double-double. All of the Kings’ starters got to double-digits in the game for scoring with DeAaron Fox leading the way with 33 points. Sacramento will now go on the road where they will face Atlanta and Memphis on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. On Friday, they will face the Boston Celtics for what looks like a very difficult week for the Kings.
Golden State Warriors finally win on the road
The Golden State Warriors ended their losing streak on the road to start the season. They were 0-8 but improved to 1-8 on the road on Sunday after defeating the Houston Rockets 127-120. Steph Curry continued to play like an MVP candidate as he had 33 points and 15 assists. Meanwhile, Klay Thompson had 41 points, a game that might signify that he is coming to form this season after a slow start.
Houston is the worst team in the NBA so far this season. The victory for Golden State does not prove a lot. They will be in New Orleans to face the Pelicans on Monday night, a game that should be more difficult for the team to win.
Are the Los Angeles Lakers breaking out of their slump?
The LA Lakers have actually won some games lately. They have rattled off three straight wins to improve to 5-10 on the season. On Sunday, the Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs very comfortably, winning 123-92 against a Spurs team that has been in a near free fall for a few weeks.
LeBron James did not play in the game but Anthony Davis had 30 points and 18 rebounds in the contest in just 28 minutes. Russell Westbrook had a double-double off of the bench, scoring 10 points and dishing out 10 assists for the Lakers in the win. Westbrook emerged from the game with a thumb injury and he is now day-to-day, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported.
