In the final game of the night in the association on Thursday, the Milwaukee Bucks hosted the LA Clippers. The Bucks, despite trailing for almost all of the game, won in a contest that was close as time expired.

Kawhi Leonard missed a couple of jumpers in LA's final possessions and the Bucks put up a one-possession margin of victory, winning by 1 point. The final score was LA 105, and Milwaukee 106 as the Bucks made up a double-digit deficit to win the game.

Clippers @ Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo scores 54

With the loss, the Clippers are now 29-26 overall on the season. This one hurts a little as they seemed to be in control of the game. It would have helped the team a lot to get a quality win on the road.

The standings in the Pacific Division are tight enough that one game does make a difference. The Sacramento Kings benefited from the result as they sit with a 2.5-game lead in the division now.

Milwaukee Bucks: Recent Form Alert

  • Milwaukee Bucks were 23-13 (January 2nd, 2023)
  • Following Thursday's game, they are 35-17

Meanwhile, the Bucks improved to 35-17 with the 1-point victory. They are now tied with the Washington Wizards for the longest winning streak that is currently active in the NBA (six games). The top scorer in the game was Giannis Antetokounmpo. He had an amazing 54 points in the contest, which was more than 50% of his team's total points. The Bucks certainly did not look like a deep team in the game, nor did LA seem to have anyone that could guard the Bucks' standout forward.

The Bucks have been impressive over the last month, a time frame where they have gone 12-4. You have to think that this team will win the Central Division, provided that they stay reasonably healthy. They finished Thursday with a four-game lead in that division.
