We update our NBA power rankings every week following the action on Sunday. The rankings below are the 14th edition of our NBA power rankings this season. They include the results from January 22nd, 2023, and no further. The Boston Celtics remain our top-ranked team following a week of action where they went 3-0.

- Atlanta Hawks: 24-23 (new entrant)
In our power rankings, we consider the overall record as the top criterion. However, adjustments are made for the team's recent form among other minor considerations.
The Philadelphia 76ers are the big mover this week. They jumped up two spots following a 3-0 week that extended their winning streak to five games. The 76ers swept a five-game road trip, which included a win over the Sacramento Kings. That truly is impressive form as they look to try and stay close to Boston.
Two teams dropped out of our power rankings. The New York Knicks had a really bad week where they lost all of their games, often to lousy teams. The New Orleans Pelicans also lost all of their games. They remain fourth in the Western Conference but actually need to re-establish themselves as an elite team in the NBA. Zion Williamson's re-evaluation date for his injury is nearing and it will provide some insight into the team's direction.
Boston Celtics: 9-game win streak active
The Boston Celtics are the hottest team within our top ten. They currently enjoy a 9-game winning streak heading into Monday. Boston did not have a difficult schedule over the past week. However, their overall record speaks for itself as the field has had plenty of trouble with the Celtics this season.
Big Games Upcoming: Which Top Teams Play One Another?
The ESPN NBA Schedule this week shows that there are some premium games for NBA fans. On Monday night, the Memphis Grizzlies will be in Sacramento to take on the Kings. On Wednesday, the Philadelphia 76ers will put their winning streak on the line against the Brooklyn Nets. That same night, the Milwaukee Bucks will host the Denver Nuggets.
