Mavericks vs Kings recap for Friday, February 10th, 2023. The Kings (now 31-24 this season) lost to the Mavericks, who are now 31-26.
The Sacramento Kings hosted the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. The Mavericks, behind a double-double out of Kyrie Irving (25p, 11a), won the game in a contest that was fairly close at the final buzzer. Dallas, thanks to a strong first quarter, put up a single-digit spread in the game, winning by 8 points in a game where they hung on. The final score was Dallas 122, and Sacramento 114.
With the loss, the Kings are now 31-24 overall on the season. They remain in first place in the Pacific Division, somewhere they are definitely not used to being at this point in the season. The top scorer in the game was De’Aaron Fox. He had an impressive 33 points in the contest, however, Sacramento’s form has been a little bit off of late. If they don’t start winning on a more consistent basis, one of the powerhouse divisional rivals will be taking over the top spot in the Pacific for sure. They may also be at risk of dropping out of our Top Ten NBA Power Rankings, rankings that we update every Sunday night.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks improved to 31-26 with the 8-point victory. The game was the second that Kyrie Irving played with the team. He has yet to play alongside Luka Doncic. However, the Mavs will be happy with the two wins they have tallied.
With Memphis struggling for the last couple of weeks, the Southwest Division might be back up for grabs. Heading into the weekend, Memphis still owns a healthy four-game lead. Dallas and the Kings will meet again on Saturday night in another game that Sacramento will host.
