The second game of the night in the Play-In first day was amazing. At least emotion-wise. With a lot of mistakes for both sides, the game had an unexpectedly low final score, but the Lakers managed to win in OT and advance to the playoffs after a 108-102 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Even playing without one of their best players, Rudy Gobert, suspended by punching a teammate during the last regular season game, the Wolves started the game really well. In fact, teams went back to the locker rooms with the score showing 60-49 in favour of the visitors from Minnesota.

LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Dennis Schröder helped the Los Angeles Lakers to comeback the disadvantage in the second half and they tied the game after trailing by 15 points. At the end of regulation, 98-98 and we had our first overtime in the postseason.

But again, it was heart-stopping. The Lakers made a three-pointer with 1.4s on the clock and the Timberwolves still managed to tie the game once again with three free-throws. In overtime, Minnesota could only score two baskets and didn’t stand a chance with so many mistakes.

Now the Los Angeles Lakers confirmed the #7 seed in the West and will play the first playoff series versus the #2 seed, Memphis Grizzlies. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves await the outcome of tonight’s matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder and they will play against the winner for the last playoff spot.
