Knicks vs Celtics recap for Tuesday, February 28th, 2023. The Celtics (now 44-18 this season) lost to the Knicks, who are now 36-27.
The New York Knicks stayed hot on Tuesday as they hosted the Boston Celtics, one of the best teams in the NBA. The Knicks, who have struggled at home at times this season, won their sixth straight game in a contest that was not close as time expired.
New York put up a double-digit margin of victory in the game, winning by 15 points. The final score was Boston 94, and New York 109 as the Knicks held Jayson Tatum to just 14 points in 37 minutes. That was one of the lowest-scoring outputs of the MVP candidate’s season so far.
With the loss, the Celtics are now 44-18 overall on the season. The referees actually ejected Tatum from the game, the first ejection of his career. Boston also slipped in the standings as the Milwaukee Bucks now have the best record in the NBA.
Meanwhile, the Knicks improved to 36-27 with the 15-point victory. The top scorer in the game was Julius Randle, who had a very good 23 points in the contest.
The Knicks continue to play like a convincing team, one that seems to have more and more promise to finish higher than the play-in tournament. New York has gone 18-9 over roughly the last two months. They finished the night in 5th place in the east and could still track down one of the teams above them with 19 games remaining in their schedule.
