The Atlanta Hawks posted an interesting result on Friday night. They hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first game for Atlanta since firing their former head coach, Nate McMillan.

The Hawks won the Friday game against a pretty good team in a contest that was not close as time expired. Atlanta put up a double-digit margin of victory in the game, winning by 17 points. The final score was Cleveland 119, and Atlanta 136 as Atlanta climbed back to .500 on the season.

With the loss, the Cavaliers are now 38-25 overall on the season. Perhaps the result is not that surprising. Cleveland is the fourth-ranked team in our NBA Power Rankings. However, they have struggled on the road this season. With the loss, they fell to 13-18 on the season when visiting.

The Hawks are definitely a team to keep an eye on following the coaching change and the big-spread victory that immediately followed. They were tipped as a peripheral contender during the preseason but as of yet, have not really lived up to what was just small hype.
