NBA fans partial to the Chicago Bulls have to like what they have seen out of their team since play resumed after the All-Star break. The Bulls hosted the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon, a game between two bubble teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls, coming off of a huge 44-point victory in their previous game, beat Washington on Sunday in a contest that was not competitive as time expired. Chicago put up a large double-digit margin of victory in the game, winning by 20 points. The final score was Washington 82, and Chicago 102 as the Bulls are +64 on point differential in their last two games.

Wizards @ Bulls Sunday: DeMar DeRozan scores 29

With the loss, the Wizards are now 28-32 overall on the season. This is a team that had a nice winning streak going in January but has since fallen on harder times. They are just 4-6 in their last ten games and they finished Sunday as the 10th-place team in the Eastern Conference — right on the play-in tournament’s bubble.

Washington Wizards: Recent Form Alert

  • Washington Wizards were 24-26 (February 2nd, 2023)
  • Following Sunday’s game, they are 28-32
  • Washington is 4-6 in their last 10 games

Meanwhile, the Bulls improved to 28-33 with the 20-point victory. This was a game that Chicago felt they had to win. They sit in the 11th spot in the east, which is on the outside looking in for playoff hopes.

The top scorer in the game was DeMar DeRozan. He had a very good 29 points in the contest and Zach Lavine had 27 points. Patrick Beverley, Chicago’s recent addition, had no points in the game. However, he still went +9 on point differential. Chicago is an interesting team to keep an eye on at this point in their season. For such a low-ranked team, certainly, two blowout victories have to ring some alarm bells.
