After having the best record of the league in the regular season, Milwaukee debuted in the playoffs with a loss
Keeping up with our coverage of the NBA Playoffs, we have another Game 2 taking place today. The Milwaukee Bucks will host the Miami Heat as they are trying to redeem themselves from the loss in Game 1. After finishing the regular season with the best record, nobody was expecting that loss.
However, one huge factor could explain the struggle last game. Giannis Antetokounmpo left the game after playing only 11 minutes, with a back injury. After that not only the team lost in quality but also psychologically. The Miami Heat won three of the four quarters of the game.
Jimmy Butler was the name of the game with 35 points, 11 assists and five rebounds. Bam Adebayo also contributed with 22 points and nine rebounds. On the Bucks’ side, Khris Middleton had a great game but couldn’t avoid the loss.
As we said, Antetokounmpo is dealing with a back injury which got him out of Game 1. Now he is questionable for tonight’s game and is going to be a game-time decision. On the Heat’s side, Game 1 also brought problems. Tyler Herro fractured his hand and is going to miss 4-6 weeks.
Even without Antetokounmpo, the Bucks are a superior team and therefore they are the favourites for the game, also for playing at home. The over/under however is set at only 219 points, which is reasonably low considering Milwaukee is playing, but totally understandable considering the Heat are the opponents.
Jrue Holiday averages 19.3 points per game in the season and is coming from a 16-point performance in game 1, which is a little bit low. As he is living a great season and didn’t reach the 20-point mark in the last two games, the line for him having over 20.5 has a lot of value, as the odds are in 1.90.
